Keepsake restoration

Old photo restoration, done by a real retoucher.

Send a scan or even a phone photo of a damaged print. We repair the cracks, tears, fading, and missing corners, and bring the faces back into focus.

A restored 1944 soldier portrait in clean monochrome The same portrait before, torn and scratched BeforeAfter

the problem

What time does to a photograph.

Prints yellow, colors shift orange, emulsion cracks, and corners tear away. A flatbed scan captures all of that damage at full resolution. Left alone it only gets worse with each handling.

what you get back

  • Torn corners and missing edges rebuilt
  • Cracks, creases, and water stains removed
  • Fading and color casts corrected
  • Black and white or color, your choice
  • Returned at full print resolution
  • Two revisions on every order

// how the work is done

Method, not magic.

01

Damage repair

Cracks, tears, creases, stains, and missing corners are rebuilt pixel by pixel using the surrounding detail, not a filter that smears them over.

02

Fade and color recovery

Faded contrast is brought back and orange or green color casts are neutralized so skin and clothing read true to the era.

03

Detail and focus

Soft faces are sharpened with restraint, and grain or scanning noise is cleaned without turning skin into plastic.

honest answers

Questions before you upload.

Often yes, if both pieces exist or enough of the subject remains. We rebuild the seam and surrounding detail. If a face is fully missing we tell you up front rather than inventing it.
A clean scan is best, but a sharp, evenly lit phone photo of the print works for most jobs. We will tell you if the source is too small before any charge.
Yes. We keep the period look and natural skin texture. The goal is the photo as it was taken, not a modern over-retouched version.
We can add natural, researched color as an add-on. It is offered as a clearly labeled option, never applied without your approval.

Ready when you are.

Upload the file and a designer takes it from there. You are quoted before any work begins.
